STORIA
DEI BLINK
IIBlink-182,
originari di San Diego (California), emettono i primi vagiti nell'autunno
del 1991, quando il 18enne Mark Hoppus (basso, voce) ha incontrato Tom
Delonge (chitarra, voce), che all'epoca aveva 14 anni.
Grazie
a Hoppus e Delonge si mette a lavorare a "Enema of the state", pubblicato
nel luglio del 1999. A seguito dell'uscita del primo singolo, e del primo
video del gruppo "What's My Age Again?", sorgono numerose polemiche: comincia

TESTI
DI ALCUNE CANZONI
Adam's
Song
I
never thought I'd die alone
I
laughed the loudest, who'd have known?
I
traced the cord back to the wall
No
wonder it was never plugged in at all
I took
my time, I hurried up
The
choice was mine, I didn't think enough
I'm
too depressed to go on
You'll
be sorry when I'm gone
I never
conquered, rarely came
16
just held such better days
Days
when I still felt alive
We
couldn't wait to get outside
The
world was wide, too late to try
The
tour was over, we'd survived
I
couldn't wait 'til I got home
To
pass the time in my room alone
I never
thought I'd die alone
Another
six months, I'll be unknown
Give
all my things to all my friends
You'll
never step foot in my room again
You'll
close it off, board it up
Remember
the time that I spilled the cup
Of
apple juice in the hall
Please
tell mom this is not her fault
I never
conquered, rarely came
16
just held such better days
Days
when I still felt alive
We
couldn't wait to get outside
The
world was wide, too late to try
The
tour was over, we'd survived
I
couldn't wait 'til I got home
To
pass the time in my room alone

All
the Small Things
All
the small things
True
care, truth brings
I'll
take one lift
Your
ride, best trip
Always,
I know
You'll
be at my show
Watching,
waiting
Commiserating
Say
it ain't so, I will not go
Turn
the lights off, carry me home
Na
na na na na na na na na na
Na
na na na na na na na na na
Na
na na na na na na na na na
Na
na na na na na na na na na
Late
night, come home
Work
sucks, I know
She
left me roses by the stairs
Surprises
let me know she cares
Say
it ain't so, I will not go
Turn
the lights off, carry me home
Na
na na na na na na na na na
Na
na na na na na na na na na
Na
na na na na na na na na na
Na
na na na na na na na na na
Say
it ain't so, I will not go
Turn
the lights off, carry me home
Keep
your head still, I'll be your thrill
The
night will go on, my little windmill
Say
it ain't so, I will not go (na na na na na na na na na na)
Turn
the lights off, carry me home (na na na na na na na na na na)
Keep
your head still, I'll be your thrill (na na na na na na na na na na)
The
night will go on, the night will go on (na na na na na na na na na na)
My
little windmill

Point
Of View
Two
different people, two different places
Through
a one way window with two different faces
Agreements
are not reached, faces are forgotten
The
other person's shoes, you have got in
Stubborn
minded enclosed to your own world
Wake
up and see someone else's morals
Want
is right to you
Might
be true
It's
a different point of view to you
You
cannot see things that are different to me
And
I can't understand why you cannot see
The
things that I cannot see
I see
what you don't see
I
see what you don't see
Turn
around and the shadows are all around me
Two
different people, two different places
Through
a one way window with two different faces
Agreements
are not reached, faces are forgotten
The
other person's shoes, you have got in

The
Girl Next Door
(Written
by Ben Weasel)
White
girl living in the big city
In
a big apartment house
She's
living with her boyfriend now
She
drives off every day for school and work
She
washes dishes now
And
watches tv on the pull out couch
And
every day's the same
White
girl moved back to the suburbs
And
she finally found a man
Who
knows how to take care of her
She
bought the perfect little house
And
the lawn's well manicured
And
she'd never missed a day of work
And
every day's the same
White
girl couldn't go on knowing
She
was just here wasting her time
She
drowned in the lake last night
They
found her bloated body floating
But
she still walks around
Performing
all her daily chores
She
still don't know what life's about
Cause
every day's the same
And
she's got no one to love

What's
My Age Again?
took
her out, it was a friday nighy
I
wore cologne to get the feeling right
We
started making out, and she took off my pants
But
then I turned on the TV
And
thats about the time she walked away from me
Nobody
likes you when you're twenty-three
And
I'm still more amused by TV shows
What
the hell is ADD?
My
friends say I should act my age
What's
my age again? What's my age again?
Then
later on, on the drive home
I
called her mom from a pay phone
I
said I was the cops, and your husband's in jail
The
state looks down on sodomy
And
thats about the time that bitch hung up on me
Nobody
likes you when you're twenty-three
And
I'm still more amused by prank phone calls
What
the hell is call ID?
My
friends say I should act my age
What's
my age again? What's my age again?
And
thats about the time she walked away from me
Nobody
likes you when you're twenty-three
and
you still act like you're in freshman year
What
the hell is wrong with me?
My
friends say I should act my age
What's
my age again? (What's my age again?)
Thats
about the time that she broke up with me
No
one should take themselves so seriously
With
many years ahead to fall in line
Why
would you wish down on me
I
never want to act my age
What's
my age again? What's my age again? What's my age again?

Romeo
& Rabecca
Walking
through the grass
Another
blade next to you from the ground
As
the wind does pass
I
notice as you feel the breath of my shout
Your
words are kind
The
kind that repeatedly say no
But
that's alright
I'm
older than you so I've got time
What
have you said, reach out your hand
There's
a black shadow on my wall
But
as I look into my mind
I
can see that girls are a waste of time
We've
all seen the bridge
A
broken seam and a girl on one side
You
think your words will work
They
only work when you lay down and close your eyes
I thought
of all the lines
All
the right ones used at all the wrong times
But
that's alright
Depression's
just a sarcastic state of mind
What
have you said, reach out your hand
There's
a black shadow on my wall
But
as I look into my mind
I
can see that girls are a waste of time
I don't
want to live alone
I
don't want to live in
My
broken dreams of you
I don't
want to live along with
My
broken dreams of you
I
don't want to live along with
My
broken dreams of you
